What are the benefits of registering as a spam reporter?

If you take the few minutes required to register before reporting spam to the ACMA, your reports become vastly more useful to us.

Reports of spam which have a submitter's name and contact details attached to them are more significant when the ACMA is investigating a purported spammer's activities. Not only is your submission treated with greater weight, but it also enables us to contact you directly regarding any previous spam you have received from the same organisation (which may or may not have been submitted into the system), and allows us to take a formal statement regarding the matter if you wish to make one.

This ultimately leads to more evidence against spammers and increases the likelihood of a successful prosecution.
